I had the opportunity to hear Bineta Diop speak at the Harvard Africa Development Conference, and it clarified how women’s leadership, lived experience, and community insight shape policy, and where that connection still breaks down.

One of the experiences I most looked forward to while traveling through South Africa was spending time in its townships, knowing they would offer a deeper understanding of place beyond what is visible on the surface.
